kamloops registered massage therapy

Our RMT services

We treat everyone as an individual by assessing and creating a unique treatment plan. We use a variety of techniques including: Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial techniques, and many more. We incorporate relaxation and stress relief into the massage alongside a therapeutic approach. We believe in giving appropriate stretch/strengthening exercises as home care. It is just as important as the treatment to continue the progress we’ve made in the clinic room at home.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the most common type of massage used. Using soft, long kneading strokes to decrease muscle tension and can relax the muscles all over the body.

Trigger Point Therapy

A trigger point is a painful tense area found in any muscle of the body. By treating these tender points promotes relaxation of the muscle and decreases referral pain in areas around the trigger point.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy works on a deeper level using digital pressure and frictioning techniques, focusing on trigger point releases and decreasing adhesions.

Myofascial techniques

Connective tissue called fascia surrounds the muscles, bones, nerves and organs of the body. Myofascial release is a manipulative treatment that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, and inflammation.

Active Massage

Active Massage is a treatment that is on and off the table, a combination of hands on work and functional movements. This hybrid style appointment will include exercises specific to each client that will help increase their ability to recover and be able to perform at home. The reason for this unique style of treatment is to move through your physical limitations and help meet specific goals.

During an Active Massage appointment expect to see:
5-10 minutes of an interview/figuring out what movement is aggravating for you
30-45 minutes of hands on treatment to manually release tension
30-35 minutes of addressing ways to make your aggravated movement more doable
Expect to get bit of a sweat on, so please where clothes you can move around in!
